An upscale hillside neighborhood north of the old city wall that has been home to Korean intellectuals, artists, and writers since the 1950s. The winding lanes hold private galleries, art residencies, and the estates of historical figures. The Korean poet Mun Ik-hwan lived here. The village connects to Bugaksan mountain through garden gates. Property values are among the highest in Seoul for the least commercial atmosphere.
