Changsin-dong Garment District Workshops (창신동 봉제 공방 골목)
The hillside streets of Changsin-dong directly above Dongdaemun market have housed Seoul's garment production workshops since the 1960s. The area is still actively working — hundreds of small-scale sewing operations produce the fabric that supplies the market below, and the streets during business hours are full of fabric delivery carts and workers moving between floors. Several workshops have opened to visitors for drop-in sessions. The residential streets above the workshop zone give views directly over the Dongdaemun retail district and are among the most textured urban walks available near central Seoul.
