COEX Starfield Library (별마당 도서관)

A three-storey open library inside the COEX Mall atrium with shelving that reaches the ceiling and a collection of around 50,000 books available to browse freely. Entry is free and no membership is required. The space operates as a public reading room in the middle of a shopping centre — unusual enough that it draws as many visitors for the architecture as for the books. The best time to visit is a weekday morning before the mall fills up, when the skylight lets in a full column of natural light across the central atrium.
