A quiet residential district in southeastern Gangnam where the apartment blocks give way to low-rise houses and a genuine neighbourhood atmosphere rarely found this close to central Seoul. The main draw is the contrast with the polished commercial Gangnam most visitors see: small local restaurants without English menus, a traditional market operating from early morning, and an unhurried pace that feels more like a provincial town than one of the world's most expensive urban districts. The 타워팰리스 apartment complex at the northern edge — for years the tallest residential building in Korea — is visible from the walking streets below.
