Geoyeo-dong in southeastern Songpa-gu retains the character of a pre-redevelopment Seoul residential neighbourhood — low-rise housing, narrow alley streets, corner shops and small restaurants that have operated in the same locations for decades. The area sits at the edge of the Wiro New City development and the contrast between the older streetscape and the new apartment towers nearby is visible from most of the main alleys. A quiet neighbourhood by Seoul standards with almost no visitor infrastructure; good for a walk that shows what mid-tier residential Seoul looked like before the apartment transformation of the 1990s and 2000s.
