Gwanggyosan Mountain Trail

📍 Sanggal-dong, Suji-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do

Gwanggyosan sits on the border between Yongin's Suji-gu and Suwon, topping out at 582 meters — serious enough to feel like a mountain but accessible enough for a half-day trip from central Seoul. The trails are well-marked and largely unpublicized outside of local hiking communities, which means on weekdays you share them primarily with older Korean hikers in full technical gear who will offer you snacks and insist you eat them. The ridge line offers views across Bundang to the north and the Suwon plain to the south. The trail from Gwanggyosan Reservoir (광교저수지) through the forest to the summit and back via the eastern ridge takes about four hours and requires no specialized equipment.
