The stretch of Itaewon-ro between Hangangjin and Hannam stations hosts some of Seoul's most commercially significant contemporary art galleries — Pace, Kukje, and several smaller spaces operate within a few blocks of each other. Shows rotate monthly and most are free to enter. The gallery clientele is a distinct Seoul demographic — creative industry, international, and familiar with contemporary art — which gives the surrounding cafés and restaurants a specific energy.
