Hoegi-dong University Area Independent Theater Row
📍 Hoegi-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul
A neighborhood in northeastern Seoul between Hoegi and Jeongreung stations that has a cluster of small independent theaters and performance spaces that developed around the university arts schools. The area is less gentrified than Daehangno and more genuinely local. Tickets for small theater productions are cheap and the audience is predominantly Korean. The surrounding residential streets have excellent dosirak (lunchbox) restaurants.
