Hongcheon Pallegol Valley Walk (홍천 팔렐골 계곡 산책)
The Pallegol valley in Hongcheon County provides a forested river walk through a narrow valley where the stream runs over granite boulders between steep wooded slopes. The valley is accessible as a day trip from Seoul via the Hongcheon expressway exit and is used primarily by the Seoul metropolitan population for summer stream bathing and camping. The water quality is consistently good; the boulder sections are the primary draw for families with children who use the natural pools for swimming. The valley is at its most active in July and August; spring and autumn visits find the forest in its most interesting seasonal state with almost no other visitors.
