Pohang Homigot Sunrise Plaza First Light Korea
📍 Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do
A seaside plaza on the eastern cape of the Korean peninsula designed specifically to receive the Korean New Year sunrise. Two massive stone hand sculptures emerge from the sea and shore, symbolizing harmony. The sunrise here on January 1st draws tens of thousands. Throughout the year the cape is peaceful with a small lighthouse museum and tidal pool walking paths.
