Inner Seorak accessible from Sokcho via the Seorakdong entrance provides the classic Korean mountain experience — the trail to Daecheongbong peak at 1,708 metres (the highest point in the Taebak Range) takes about 5 hours from the Biryong Falls junction. The Biryong and Towangseong Falls in the approach valley give spectacularly close-range waterfall views from the trail. Ulsan Bawi — a massive granite monolith accessible on a steeper side trail — is the most famous single rock formation in Korean mountain culture. The Seorakdong tourist village below the park entrance holds the full range of mountain-area restaurants and accommodation for the national park's most visited gateway.
