Run by the city government and largely unknown outside Yongin, this forest recreation area in the eastern hills of Cheoin-gu offers overnight stays in forest cabins, a valley stream you can wade in during summer, and a trail network that sees almost no foreign visitors. Koreans use the national and municipal recreation forest system extensively — booking cabins months in advance — but the booking interface is Korean-only, which filters out most foreigners entirely. A day trip for hiking and picnicking requires no reservation and no Korean. The forest is dominated by pine and oak, the air quality is noticeably different from the urban corridor, and the facilities include a basic outdoor fitness area and covered rest pavilions positioned along the stream.
