The birthplace of General Gang Gam-chan (948–1031), the military commander credited with repelling the Khitan invasion and widely regarded as one of Korea's greatest military figures. The historic site preserves the birth location within a small forested park, including a reconstruction of the traditional house, stone monuments, and a small museum. The adjacent Nakseongdae Park extends the visit with lotus ponds, a woodland walk, and a traditional archery range. The park is a short walk from Seoul National University and forms a natural addition to any visit to the university campus. Almost no foreign visitors; very few English signs.
