The lower trails of Odaesan National Park along the Odaesan stream are among the most reliable bird-watching locations in the central Korean mountains, with resident populations of brown dipper, grey wagtail, mandarin duck, and a range of warbler species through the breeding season. The stream corridor trail between the park entrance and Woljeongsa Temple provides the best access to the riparian habitat; early morning walks between 6 and 8 a.m. in spring and summer see the most activity. The combination of the clear mountain stream, the fir forest, and the relatively modest elevation makes this accessible to birders of all experience levels.
