Perched at the exact confluence of the Han and Imjin rivers, Odusan is the point where South Korea literally ends and North Korea begins across a strip of water barely 460 meters wide. On clear days you can see North Korean villages, watch farmers working their fields, and observe military guard posts through the telescope stations. Unlike the JSA tour, no advance booking is required — just bring your passport. The observatory building itself is architecturally bold, designed to resemble a traditional Korean watchtower. The drive along the river road from Munsan-eup is quietly beautiful and almost entirely tourist-free.
