Daebudo Island in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do, is connected to the mainland by the Sihwa Tidal Power Plant causeway and holds the largest accessible tidal flat experience within Seoul day-trip range. The tidal flat at Banjeom Port exposes at low tide to reveal the mud flat ecosystem that the surrounding Gyeonggi Bay supports — clams, crabs, and the foraging ecology of the coastal birds that use the Yellow Sea tidal belt. Several farms offer tidal flat experience programmes where visitors can dig clams on the exposed flat. The surrounding Daebudo coast holds a cycle path and several grape vineyards specific to the island's mild coastal climate.
