Gapyeong Nami Island Circuit (가평 남이섬 한 바퀴)
Nami Island in the Bukhangang River near Gapyeong became internationally known after its use as a filming location for the 2002 Korean drama Winter Sonata, which drove the first wave of East Asian cultural tourism to Korea. The island itself — a half-moon shaped alluvial island with tree-lined paths and seasonal plantings — has developed a distinctive aesthetic identity around its meticulously maintained landscape and the independent cultural programming of its resident artist community. The ferry crossing from Gapyeong Wharf takes about five minutes. The combination of the poplar-lined main avenue in autumn and the metasequoia alley in other seasons makes the island consistently photographed through all four seasons.
