Suncheon Seonamsa Temple Approach (순천 선암사 오솔길)

📍 Suncheon-si, Jeollanam-do

Seonamsa in Jogyesan Provincial Park near Suncheon is one of the two major temples of South Jeolla Province — the other being Songgwangsa on the opposite ridge — and its approach path through the ancient fir forest is as significant as the temple itself. The arched stone bridge (Seungseongyo) at the temple approach is one of the finest Goryeo-period stone structures remaining in Korea. The temple has remained in the practice jurisdiction of the Taego Order rather than the dominant Jogye Order, giving it a slightly different atmosphere from most Korean temples. The 5-kilometre ridge path connecting Seonamsa to Songgwangsa on the opposite side of Jogyesan can be combined for a full-day mountain temple circuit.
