Yongin Ceramic Village Icheon Adjacent (용인 처인구 도자마을)
Cheoyin-gu in Yongin contains Sindun-myeon, where the highest concentration of active ceramic studios in Korea is located — a cluster of about 80 independent potters working in both traditional Korean celadon and white porcelain techniques alongside contemporary ceramic art forms. The Gwangju-Icheon-Yongin triangle is historically the region of Korean ceramic production from the Joseon period onward and several studios in this area trace their lineage to specific Joseon-period kiln traditions. The Ceramic Festival held in May draws visitors to the open studio days when the kilns are fired and production is visible. Several studios maintain permanent galleries and sales operations.
