The Daehan Dawon green tea plantation in Boseong, South Jeolla Province, is the largest tea estate in Korea and the source of imagery that has made this one of the most replicated landscape photographs in the country — rows of precisely trimmed tea bushes on terraced hillside slopes surrounded by pine forest, photographed in the early morning mist. The estate has been operating since 1939 and the tea cultivation area covers 500 hectares of Jirisan foothills. The estate cafe serves freshly processed green tea and the annual tea harvest in late April and early May draws visitors for the picking experience. The morning fog common between April and June creates the atmospheric light conditions that define the site's visual identity.
