The Naro Space Center in Goheung is Korea's only space launch facility, built on a peninsula on the southern tip of Jeollanam-do and home to the NURI launch vehicle programme that achieved Korea's first domestically developed satellite launch in 2022. The Space Science Museum adjacent to the launch complex is open to the public and documents the history of Korean space exploration from the early rocket programmes to the operational NURI vehicle. The launch facility itself is visible from designated observation points during scheduled tours. The Goheung peninsula surrounding the space centre is one of the least developed coastal areas in Korea and the offshore island chain visible from the launch complex is part of Dadohae Maritime National Park.
