Sejong Center Area — Gwanghwamun Cultural Block (세종문화회관 일대)

📍 Sejong-daero, Jung-gu, Seoul

The cultural block around Sejong Center for the Performing Arts on Sejong-daero is the primary performing arts precinct of central Seoul, with the main hall presenting opera, symphony, and large-scale theatrical productions. The underground Sejong Arts Center annex and the adjacent Seoul Museum of History are open during the day with free or low-cost entry to certain exhibitions. The plaza between Sejong Center and the Kyobo Building gives a direct sightline to Gwanghwamun Gate and the Bugaksan ridge behind it — one of the classic central Seoul compositions. The surrounding streets connect directly to the Cheonggyecheon stream below.
