Wonju Chiaksan Mountain Buddhist Temple Autumn

A national park mountain south of Wonju with one of the most dramatic autumn foliage displays in Gangwon Province. The Guryongsa Temple at the valley entrance is approached through an avenue of ancient maple trees that peak in late October. The higher ridges have exposed granite formations similar to Seoraksan but with far fewer visitors. Wild mushroom foragers work the forest in autumn.
