Yeongdong in Chungcheongbuk-do is the centre of Korean wine production, with Yeongdong Wine Korea holding a competitive wine market and over 30 wineries in the county producing wines from the Cambell Early, Muscat Bailey A, and MBA grape varieties grown on the mountain slopes around the Geum River tributaries. The Yeongdong National Grape Research Station and the Naksandaecheop Music Village (a traditional gayageum performance centre) give the county a cultural specificity beyond the wine tourism. The Chupungnyeong Pass road above Yeongdong to Gimcheon provides the classic Korean mountain pass view in autumn when the oak and maple colour is at its peak.
