Tangeumdae is a forested cliff above the confluence of the Dalcheon stream and the Namhangang River in Chungju, historically the site where the Goryeo-period musician Uruk played the gayageum. The cliff park holds walking paths above the river with views over the Chungju Lake basin and the surrounding mountain ridges of Chungcheongbuk-do. The Chungju area marks the upper Namhangang corridor, and the Chungjuho Lake above the dam to the north provides one of the most scenic reservoir drives in central Korea — the cliff road along the lake's southern shore.
