Sanmakyi Yetgil is a restored traditional mountain path along the cliff edge of Goesan Lake in Chungcheongbuk-do, following the course of an original hill trail that connected isolated lakeside villages before the reservoir was created. The path runs 4 kilometres along the cliff face above the water, passing through formations of limestone and the mixed forest of the Chilseongsan foothills. The lake below is a clear, unfished reservoir and the cliff-edge path gives continuous water views. The combination of the restored traditional path character, the limestone geology, and the lake gives the walk an intimacy lacking in the more developed national park walking circuits nearby.
